WOULD YOU HIRE A WOMEN
FOR SEX ?
Hannah Borno
The pink champagne is in the fridge. The candles are lit. The massage oils is by
the bed and I've spent the afternoon tidying up and exfoliating. Although I gave
up cigarettes months ago, I'm so nervous I'm chain smoking Camel Lights. A hot date?
Well yes. Tonight Brazilian Michelle, a 23 year old from the agency
Bi-girls
is paying me a visit. This will be my first bi-sexual experience. (Not to mention
my first experience of paying for sexual favours!) I have a vague visions of fragrant
softness and intimate exploration. What am I expecting? A Kiss? I simply don't know.
It seems I am not alone in my sexual quest. One in three women in a recent Cosmo
sex survey expressed a desire to experience women on women sex. Escort agencies,
for many of these women, represent a safe, convenient way to road test their sexuality.
No ties, no emotion and no nosy friends demanding a post mortem. And business is
booming. The trend is such a phenomenon that leading agencies estimate bookings
by women are up 5000 percent over the past three years. To accommodate demand some
agencies even employ girls who specialise in bi-curious first timers like me.
Although I'm interested in finding out about the growing trend, I'm not sure if
Michelle will draw out my female friendly side. My only bisexual yearnings in life
so far having been expressed in a mild crush on Sarah Jessica Parker ( What lovely
shoes! What lovely handbags!). But the more research I did the more I realised that
strangely , hiring a hooker to explore your sexual side is not as unusual as it
sounds.
"Sexuality is s o fluid now and most women experience vague bi-curious feelings
at some point in their lives, even if they don't act on them," explains sex expert
Karen Krizanovich. " hiring an escort allows you to be turned on by escorts without
having to deal with a full-blown relationship or adopting a bisexual lifestyle.
Now women have the economic ability to pay for sex, they're thinking 'Why not?'
It's the ultimate firm of shopping.
The market for female escorts for bi-curious girls reflects a general explosion
of bisexual experimentation among 20 to 30 something women. an influential sex report
out last year (The New Hite Report) says about 15 per cent of UK women are currently
having lesbian sex, and a whopping 71 per cent would like to try it. Sex with another
women is also the third most popular female sexual fantasy (after sex with a current
lover and sex with a stranger). You can't turn on the TV without your favourite
character delving into her bisexual side - from Ally McBeal kissing Ling, to SJP
snogging Alanis Morissette in Sex in the City, to the Brookside cast who seem to
have different lesbian affairs every episode. The discretion and anonymity of the
Net and the growing acceptability of Lonely hearts ads has also boosted the bisexual
boom. Type 'bisexual escort agencies for women' into any internet search engine
and over 1000 UK sites come up.
AmberClaire , the sweet -sounding 28 -year old who runs
http://www.bi-girls.net
agrees business is good. " most of our girls have bookings with women every day,"
she enthuses, "I also have two very caring and pro-active girls who specialise in
first timers,"
So why are women choosing now to explore their bisexual side in this fashion? "
A few years ago, the only way bi-curious women had to explore their sexuality was
in a three-in-a-bed scenario - their boyfriends always paying ," Claire tells me.
" But now the motivation for most bookings comes from the women themselves. They're
primarily straight, have had an active sex life. Now they want something new," And
they're willing to pay handsomely for it. Most escorts cost over £100 an hour with
elite girls charging up to £500.
Nimah Fielding 24, a PR account manager from Surrey recently hired an escort, having
never had a previous liaison with a women. "I've had loads of relationships with
men," she says, " but I'd always been interested to know what it would be like with
a women," Nimah found booking an escort was the easiest solution to her dilemma,
" I didn't want to go to a gay bar and pick someone up because I was worried they'd
look down on me for not being gay. Also I didn't want to have sex with a scary,
butch women. Placing a personal ad seemed a risky option. I wanted someone feminine.
I took the day off work, flicked through a few magazines, rang up a few agencies
and booked a girl."
